The Beck Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer and Energy Modeler with the ability to work effectively in an Integrated Design Environment within both the Preconstruction and Sustainability teams.

Description
The position will entail working closely with design teams to analyze the efficiency of building envelopes, HVAC and lighting systems from schematic to construction document phases. This position will help project teams optimize energy efficiency to meet LEED and AIA 2030 Commitment goals. Additional responsibilities include review of Construction Documents (drawings & specifications), review submittals and shop drawings, conduct site observations and reports, and manage MEP subcontracts.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Proficiency with ASHRAE 90.1 compliant tools: EnergyPlus, TRACE 700, eQUEST, IES Virtual Environment, EnerSim, HAP etc.
• Must be detail-oriented and have a collaborative personality
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1 standard including Appendix G, California Title 24, and other building energy codes
• In depth experience with LEED criteria and detailed documentation
• Strong presentation skills
• Experience with daylight modeling and analysis
• Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) experience
• HVAC load software experience (Trane Trace or Carrier HAP load software)
• Revit experience
Education and Experience Requirements:
• 3+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
• Advanced LEED energy modeling experience
• Interest in future MEP technologies
• Ability to propose alternative energy efficiency solutions
• Desire to mentor under Senior Mechanical Engineer
